I digress, by going through Northern Ontario, would take you to such places as Sault Sainte Marie and Thunder Bay with miles of nothingness in between, so if the ever so dependable minivan decided to be not so dependable, we'd be screwed. Alternatively, we could go cross the US border in Sarnia and potentially waste hours having the car stripped down, not to mention, being interrogated like terrorists. To avoid the latter, I decided to shave. To avoid having the car stripped, I decided to take a risk, who cares, I had nothing to hide.
At the border, there was a huge lineup because it was the long weekend. After the half hour wait in the car, we finally arrived at the checkpoint where the officer almost let us through without even caring. We had to remind her to care and let us get our I94's and take $6 USD from us. I have to admit, she was a pretty cool officer - not grumpy like at the other borders. Inside didn't take much time either, and they didn't strip down the car to find all my clothes and cooking utensils. Thats right kids, high risk, high reward.
And there we were, in the land of opportunity, the land of plenty. And cue the exciting scenery:
A few hours later, and many business calls later ( i think i can almost guide a company through a corporate restrucuturing), there was a glimpse of civilization:
Coincidentally enough, we arrived in Chicago on Friday at 5pm before a long weekend. Traffic galore. It was driving on the Gardiner during rush hour, parking lot. Whatever, we got to spend time in Chicago. Saw the two main attractions of the city (im just saying that because these are the only two things we saw):
The US Cellular Stadium. Home of the White Sox (thats what the banner says anyways)
One interesting thing about the city though was that the platforms of the subway acted as the dividers between the sides on the highways.
And one more thing, wtf is up with this nozzle at the gas station??? Its so small.
